Who Gossips More? Men Or Women? How about your choice?

The gossip phenomenon can be traced back to ancient Egypt, where gossip was used as a form of entertainment. In the Bible, gossip is condemned and is considered “idle talk” or sinful (Proverbs 16:28). From these associations with gossip being negative, it seems that men are more likely to not associate themselves with gossiping. Women are often seen gossiping about other women in their female-dominated social circles – aka Girl Talk! Whether this reflects on each gender’s propensity for gossip remains unclear; however, there may be some truth behind the idea that females typically engage in more “gossipy” behavior than males do because they have less stressful lives when they compare them with male counterparts. That stress could lead to gossiping as a coping mechanism.
